The Sentinel, Friday, November 27, 2009 David Johnson writes:-..... A FINE FIGURINE: The first potters to use a backstamp declaring Stoke-on-Trent as the World Capital of Ceramics have handed a figurine with the special mark to a museum. Peter Holland, Tony Young and John Bromley, pictured left to right, of the Figurine Collective, gave the piece to the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, in Hanley. Mr Young, aged 54, who spent 30 years as a designer for a leading mail-order collectibles company before forming the Figurine Collective with work colleagues, said: "Collectors from across the globe want to buy items because they are produced, designed and made in Stoke-on-Trent and that is what we want to guarantee."
