china figurines query
by debra wolfe
(flint, mi.)
china figurines query:- I have a figurine of a woman dressed in a lovely pink dress with a hooded jacket with ribbons and raised blue roses she is 8 inches tall. Her pottery mark is two crossed blue downward pointed arrows. She also has numbers 8127.
================================================== Dear Debra,
She sounds lovely from your description, but it is hard to say too much about her without seeing a photo of your china figurine and knowing a bit more about the background of where you bought it or inherited it from.
The crossed arrows mark is a widely copied one, particularly from a New York based importer from Japan called Arnart or Homco. They are imitating the mark of quality German makers called 'Kalk' Porcelain of Eisenberg in Thuringia (1900 - 1973), formerly Geyer & Körbitz (1890 - 1900).
I hope that this helps a bit,
best regards
Tony
