Do you know the mark

by mary pitcher

==================================================Re. your enquiry on china figurines "do you know the mark"
==================================================
Dear Mary,

I do not recognize the mark on your figurine but I agree that it could be Japanese or Far eastern in nature, judging by the clues in the photograph. The colour of the body suggests it to be porcelain rather than a bone china figurine.

The best suggestion that I have for you is to go onto Peter Holland's own website where he has a service for identifying china figurines and other items.

Here is a link where you will be able to liaise with an expert in their particular field:-

www.figurines-sculpture.com/id-pottery-mark.html

If you are interested in values then the general advice is to take into account the changing market in the current economy. Items fetching premium prices a couple of years ago are no longer, and other things becoming 'fashionable'. This is the realm of the experts and Peter has a special page where you get tips on researching china values and liaise with experts.

Best regards,

Tony

SR with vines around it that are on figurines that are what seem to be porcelain and are theatrical in nature?

Personally Im guessing Japanese but could be wrong as they are very detailed...just dont know?

Any help would cerainly be appreciated.
Thank You
Mary
