Enquiry About the Making of China Figurines:- Many thanks for your enquiry. We would be delighted to have you come and make a video of our figurines being produced. We are very keen to keep alive the manufacture of bone china figurines in the UK and, as you realize, there are very few being made here any more.

One of the prime reasons for The Figurine Collective to be formed was our reaction to so much of what was the once great, UK ceramics industry moving abroad. The founder members, John Bromley, and myself have all worked within the industry for several decades now and seen the sad decline of what was once a major industrial employer shrinking beyond recognition.

One of the great things about what we are doing is that everyone who works to produce our figurines has a whole working life's experience
in the pottery industry - often as key workers for the 'big boys' of Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Royal worcester and Spode.

As key, experienced personnel have been made redundant from the large firms, they have been offered the chance to work with us. We can say,
truthfully, that our figurines are produced by craftsmen with decades of experience in the UK ceramics industry, whereas some of the household names cannot say the same thing about theirs.

We love the heritage of the pottery workers. Their skills have been passed down through the generations, often within families, working for the same firm over a period of hundreds of years.
