Let us introduce you to Annette who is a marvelous figurine painter and gilder. Annette Griffiths is a 'Fine Bone China figurine artist' one of the the most important people in the whole process of ceramic production. It is artist like Annette specializing in hand-painting your individual figurine and putting her years of artistry and effort which go make the final piece a work of art rather than simple something from a production line. She has her special chair, her special paint brushes. She is an artist not a 'worker'. We, in the collective, all understand the difference.Annette worked for the great china houses of Coalport and Wedgwood learning and refining her craft and now has her own artist studio within our production facility.  Annette carries this knowledge through her work as each figurine is handmade and hand painted and gilded, no two creations are exactly alike and, of course, individual pieces may vary slightly in colour and decoration. Every one of our figurines is handcrafted and finished with the utmost care. We, at The Figurine Collective are just simply going about the business of carrying on the 250 year old jewel of a resource which we have inherited to make high quality figurine collectables here in England. As far as I'm concerned, I want to have my figurines only made in England in a continuing tradition and heritage of centuries in this country. I believe in what my collectors want... I believe they want to know exactly where their figures are made". "How 'Our Special Touch' Works" The artists and artisans of 'The Figurine Collective' are handpicked for their knowledge and skills gained in the Staffordshire Potteries working for such firms as Royal Doulton, Coalport and Wedgwood. It is their care and special attention to detail that infuses each of the figurine collectables with life, soul and individuality. These people are the ones who carry the thread of over two centuries of an unbroken artisan tradition of English Fine Bone China. So when did the English heritage of Fine Bone China production begin? The finished working production bone china recipe was finally developed by Josiah Spode the 2nd in 1799, although factories had been producing soft and hard-paste porcelain since 1750. This invention knocked the European hard-paste porcelain into a cocked hat as it was finer, purer in colour and stronger than any of that 'grey' wares on the continent. Thus the heritage of the English Fine Bone China figurine collectables began. Collectors have been appreciating it's beauty ever since!
