The stick up person is a 'bone china figurine maker' in the truest sense of the word - one slip and the piece might have to be discarded. It is precise skills like this which have been handed down from generation to generation. The block maker cuts and destroys the sculpture in order to make moulds, the sticker-upper makes everything OK again.

By the time all the various complex elements have been completed to our satisfaction, the figure has passed through an estimated 40 pairs of hands (see our article here).
