"FIND OUT HOW TO RESERVE A FIGURINE WITH NO OBLIGATION TO BUY!"

Let us introduce you to Beverly, our person in charge of the crucial process delicately known locally as "stick-up repair" - such a difficult and precise art with a vernacular description!.

..... which is why the person doing it must be such a steady eddy.... Beverly is the person who ensures you get a piece which is exactly as the sculptor intended:-

"I like thought of taking a bunch of parts from lots of little moulds and putting together like a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle... says Bev. It is the 'fittings' the blocker makes which make all the difference to how difficult or easy my job is".

The stick up person is a 'bone china figurine maker' in the truest sense of the word - one slip and the piece might have to be discarded.

It is precise skills like this which have been handed down from generation to generation.

The block maker cuts and destroys the sculpture in order to make moulds, the sticker-upper makes everything OK again.

lady figurines - how they are put together

"I have to have a picture in my head of exactly what the sculptor is getting at, just like the picture on the outside of a jigsaw puzzle box"

"This is just how the figurines used to be made in the good old days."

Obviously, only the stick-up operatives with the steadiest hands are allowed to work on our lady figurines.

By the time all the various complex elements have been completed to our satisfaction, the figure has passed through an estimated 40 pairs of hands (see our article here).

Here's what Tony Young, head of product development, says about the process of bone china making....

"By commissioning the first ever of our lady figurines from The Figurine Collective, you will become a valued collector.

You have the privileged opportunity to secure one of the most coveted figurines in this historic edition because, once your deposit is accepted, you will be allocated one of the early edition numbers that will add to the rarity value of your unique sculpture.

We are sure that you will appreciate the superb skill, artistry and craftsmanship that have gone into the creation of our lady figurines when you are able to hold her in your hand for the first time and see her in the setting of your own home.

As soon as production is ready to start, we will be in touch to confirm your low edition number.

Thank you for your support and we hope that you visit our website and follow our updates."

"The Hands Who Have The Special Touch"

The Quest for Perfection

The creation of any new ceramic figurine of a long and highly technical process, not to mention the artistic decisions constantly made along the way in the quest for perfection.

Because, uniquely at The Figurine Collective, our sculptors have control of every stage of development of their figurine – their original ideas and vision can be expressed as closely as possible. There is a constant reassessment of the design at the early stages of development of our lady figurines – a constant ‘tweaking’ and testing of colours and finishes in the attempt to get as close to perfection as possible.
