Shown in the picture above is Peter Holland's original clay sculpture prior to arriving at the factory for casting and manufacture. Peter and the team will have ideas at this stage on the colours, so don't be fooled by the beige which is the natural colour of the clay. Also the large white plinth on the base is a plaster of Paris sculpting stand which will not be part of the final piece.

The above photo shows how the figurine "Rose Garden" looks when it is first cast and assembled from all the separate moulded parts. The original sculpture has been 'blocked' - which means a mould has been made and the first cast of the original sculpture and has been has been poured. This item is yet to be fired, and is hollow, so is very delicate indeed. Note there is no parasol handle just yet! How strange!
You will notice that the flowers on her head band have changed as Peter, working with Denise, the specialist and highly skilled flower-maker, has produced this fabulous design of to frame her gorgeous face.
