Making China Figurines Comment - "TALENT and QUALITY Go To Make Bone China Figurines":- I was delighted to hear of the visit of my hometown University (Sunderland) to see how things are done by the talented team at your disposal.

It is such a joy that this truly British craft is being preserved and I have informed all my friends and associates in Australia, Canada and the USA to join your splendid website.

Yourself and John have created some wonderful pieces over the years which have been brought to life by the many unsung heroes working along side and long may you continue to do so.

It is very refreshing that you give credit to the many talents working with you.

I have enclosed a photo of two of my favourites from the previous works of yourself and John.

Dear Judi

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time and trouble to upload your pics and make your wonderfully supportive comments.

It really is for discerning people like yourself we are keeping the traditions alive.

What a shame to have let them just go into past history. We see artists like Denise, Bev, Yvonne, Annette and the incredible skills of block makers like Andrew and Mark and casters like Rob.

This is one of the most special and ancient handcraft traditions this country has ever seen.

Observing the past, you see often the exceptional characters come along to keep the creativity alive. People like Susie Cooper, Claris Cliff, Charles Noke, Jack Jones and Susan Williams-Ellis all had to stick their necks out in order to achieve anything.

They had to be entrepreneurial, open-minded, and business-like. However, above all they were 'creatives'. Woe betide any company when the thrusting executives take control.

Under the old big name regimes before they folded, we were all just mere bunch of artists and artisans without the power of decision making.

However, it is plain to see without the insight of the founding fathers like J. Wedgwood, J. Spode Junior, Henry Doulton, John Rose and Dr Wall, the big decisions begin to be taken by lesser men with their eye off the ball. The important things can then just slip away, needlessly.

Indeed, also seeing how totally relevant our china figurine skills are to the 21st Century which the visit from Dr Livingsone's Sunderland University film department represented.
