Karl Ens Backstamps.

Hi again
The Karl Ens piece i have has a green backstamp which I have found out dates to the 1990s - was wondering if the factory was reopened at this point if closed? thank you

I think that you are correct.
Here is some information that I have discovered -

Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens (1898-1972)
Nationalized in 1972 as VEB Unterglasurporzellanfabrik (1972-1974)
later part of the VEB Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur (1974-1990)

After 1990 again privatized.
Mark in green used again since 1990
blue after World War II until today

Karl ENS Rare Blue Heron

I need help. I have recently acquired a Karl ENS piece that I can't find on any web site. It is the blue heron, but it is not the double one and it is not the small one with the beak pointed down. It has the head arched toward the sky, with the neck resting on the back. It is plainly marked with the Karl ENS pottery mark. Please help with any information!Lana_Jones@aol.com
